Risk based testing – a whole team responsibility
The use of the term ”risk based testing” is often used when we discus how we test in our projects or teams, but when you look at your own project – do you really practice what you preach?
The term “risk based testing” is often used in test strategies and test plans, but how are the information about risk actually used in you projecs, and are you having the right focus; do you remember to think about not only project risk but also product risk? Risk management tend to be an activity governed by a huge excel spreadsheet or even better a risk tool, documented as a result of a structured process… but mainly in the context of PROJECT risk. But do you focus on identifying the PRODUCT risks that exists for your features and storys, and do you do something about them… do you actually do risk based testing?
Gitte Ottosen will walk you through different approaches to lightweight product risk analysis, with a strong focus on the conversation/discussion around identifying and classifying product risks as a team effort. Also the output of the product risk analysis is discussed; how do we use the output as a foundation for test and quality assurance in the project.
